Relative Canonical

Warning canonical.relative

What it means

The canonical URL is relative. Relative canonicals resolve differently depending on the page they appear on, which is how a whole site ends up canonicalising to one URL.

How to fix it

Use an absolute URL including the scheme and host.

Where to find it in Truelint

Open the Issues pane on the right of the workspace and select Relative Canonical. The grid filters to every affected URL and the detail pane shows the specific finding for each. Export the list with Export → Current view, or from the API:

GET /api/v1/crawls/{handle}/issues/canonical.relative
